SUMMARY: Community Food Survey Results & Analysis
The Community Food Survey conducted by Slate Valley Cares gathered over 300 responses to assess donation willingness and preferred food items, revealing strong community engagement. Findings showed that 95% of respondents were willing to donate each time they shopped, with interest in EBT-compatible options, and highlighted a demand for fresh produce. Some respondents were unaware that the majority of the food Slate Valley Cares distributes freely must be purchased, indicating a need for clearer communication. In response, we plan to develop educational materials on how the Right to Food Center functions, explore EBT donation options, and adjust inventory based on popular items. Updates will be shared through various channels, with future surveys aimed at improving communication and accessibility.
