If you are elderly or disabled and can't apply in person, your local agency may accept your application by phone.
If you heat with bulk fuels (e.g., oil, kerosene, propane, wood, pellets, and coal) — apply from the last Monday in November to the second Friday in April.
If you heat with metered fuels (e.g., natural gas, electric, or metered propane) — apply from the last Monday in November to the last regular working day in April.
Tip: Don't wait until you run out of fuel to apply! Fuel dealers often charge a special trip fee for emergency deliveries. We cannot help you if the fuel has already been delivered or the furnace work has been completed.
Weatherization means to make your home more efficient at heating and retaining heat. Weatherization helps reduce the cost of heating your home. Efficiency Vermont works with local Community Action Agencies to help low-income Vermonters save energy and lower costs.

If anyone earned wages/salary from a job, complete one Form 407: Employment Income Verification Form for each job in the past 12 months. Complete the employee's section only. Download the BROC Form (Southwest VT).
Submit your completed, signed forms to the address on the application (BROC Weatherization Office Address: 45 Union Street, Rutland, VT 05701)

Fill out the application form. Print the Green Mountain Power Energy Assistance Program application form OR call Vermont Economic Services Division (1-800-775-0516) and leave a message with the address where you want the form to be sent.
Attach a copy of your most recent electric bill. The bill will not be returned to you, so you may want to send a copy and keep the original.

If you have questions about your Green Mountain Power bill, call Green Mountain Power: 1-888-835-4672,
Once you’re enrolled in the program, you must call Economic Services (1-800-775-0516) to report any changes to your household income or household members within 10 business days of the change. If you do not report changes right away, you will no longer be eligible for the program. Legal action may be taken against you for discounts you should not have received.
Tip: You must apply for this program every year.
This is a program to help customers who have fallen behind on their bills. If you get a disconnect notice from Green Mountain Power (GMP), their policy is to collect a minimum of half of the past-due amount. The Power Partners Program helps customers reach this amount. If you can pay 25%, GMP will pay the other 25% for you, up to a maximum of $1,500.
You need to have received a disconnect notice from GMP.
You need to call call Green Mountain Power at 1-888-835-4672 and speak to a GMP agent before the first disconnection date on that notice. Tell them you would like to use Power Partners.
If you have used Power Partners in the past calendar year, you will not be eligible until the next calendar year.

SASH (Support and Services at Home): a free, nationally acclaimed program that supports the health and well-being of Medicare recipients regardless of monthly income. With this program, a local SASH coordinator and wellness nurse will offer individualized help and support with a consistent presence in the housing community they're based in during weekdays.
